MOVEMENT DIRECTION & DESIGNWorking with movement in many forms from character development through to creating movement-scapes for stage and film, Alicia works via the Lecoq pedagogy to realise the movement language required to tell a more richer and engaging performance and/or story. Movement language is the movement basis from which you start, for example, a psychological gesture, the dynamics of nature, colours, symbols or music.
She collaborates closely with the director and creative team at the required stage of the creative process to ensure that the physical delivery and meaning is strong. Whether it is a scripted film, stage production or scratch work in creative development the same rigorous attention to detail is adopted across concept, research & creation, high quality movement that an audience can connect to. |
MOVEMENT COACHING & LECOQ TUTORINGAlicia works with students, actors, artists, directors as a talent and movement performance coach in bringing the body to a state of readiness: aware of rhythm, space and breath.
Actors playing non-human characters such as animals may need special movement coaching, as well as those playing different ages or bringing sci-fi, period or fantasy heroes and villains to life. Often actors are called to work on green screen and motion capture films, Alicia can assist actors and extras with simulated interaction and character creations These sessions can take the format of one on one sessions in audition preparation, rehearsal and/or on set, or Lecoq physical theatre workshops for larger groups. They can be one off sessions for a specific performance that needs attention to movement or regular workshops to work more in depth over a period of time. |
